Ride the train to the International Convention with fellow Kiwanians. Present plans call for leaving
Friday morning, June 25th. Cost is expected to not exceed $50 round trip

The
Kansas District is busy making plans for the official visit of
International President Robert L. Moore and First Lady
Jan during May. Division 9 will be the location for the highlight
of President Moore’s visit - a banquet on Thursday evening, May 13, at the
Overland Park Marriott. Invitations will be sent out to Lt. Governors and
Clubs in MO-ARK Divisions 3 and 4 who might wish to attend President Moore’s
visit to the Metro Area. President Moore will make his official visit to the
MO-ARK District the following Saturday in Cape Girardeau. Proceeds from the
banquet over the cost will go to support the Southwest Boulevard Family Health

Plans
are under way for the annual Kiwanis Mom’s Day Baby
Shower Drive, to be held the Saturday before Mother’s Day, May 8.
Make sure to mark the date on your club calendars. Club presidents will be
contacted for information regarding club contacts for the project and
partnerships with benefiting agencies. This successful collaboration between
individual Kiwanis Clubs, children’s agencies and Hy-Vee stores in the KC
metro area has collected about $18,000 in goods and money for needy mothers
each of the past four years.

Division 4’s 51st Annual Pancake Day
to support Kiwanis Student Assistance will be held from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.,
Wednesday, March 24, at Bartle Hall on the corner of 13th and
Central. Advance tickets will be $5 and will be available in February. If
anyone has any questions about the event they may contact Ed Redhair at

Wilson is available to speak about the Surviving
Spouse and Family Endowment Fund (SAFE), which has been
instituted by the Kansas City Metropolitan Crime Commission to assist
dependent spouses and children of law enforcement, firefighting or emergency
response personnel who lose their lives in the line of duty. Mr. Wilson can

Christopher Hope heads up the Dictionary Project of
Kansas City, part of a nationwide effort to provide free
dictionaries to third grade school children. You can email The Dictionary

This is a very worthwhile and rewarding program that many Metro Area Kiwanis
Clubs are participating in already.

Merriam Kiwanis Club will hold a “50’s & 60’s Dance”
fundraiser at 7 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 31, at the Knights of Columbus Hall,
corner of Johnson Drive and King. Admission will be $15. Snacks, soft drinks
and beer will be provided, and there will be door prizes. For more information

Lenexa Kiwanis Club will hold its Second Annual
Kiwanis Open Miniature Golf Tournament indoors at Dales Gym, 11301
West 88th Street in Lenexa. The fundraising event will be held from
12 noon to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 28. For more information contact Christian
