Buckle Up Kids in Cars is Lt. Governor Raymond Handy's Signature Project for
2003-2004. Each club in the Division has initiated a project to publicize
use of child safety seats and booster seats and to measure the change in use as
a result of the publicity. Rommell Cooks is the Project Consultant and
Coordinator, 816-329-3900.
MO-ARK
Mid-Winter Conference February 21-22 - The deadline for
reserving a room for the MO-ARK Mid-Winter Conference in Branson is rapidly
approaching. You must contact the hotel before February 5, 2004 to avoid
having to find another place to stay. You must reserve your meals by mail
so they arrive before February 13th to get the early bird price. The reservation
forms are in the December issue of the Kiwanigram, or can be
downloaded here. The general program
starts at 9:30 am on Saturday.

Roger Kelley, representing the
Blue Valley Club, announced that the custom made
Kiwanis
Historical quilt will be auctioned at the Mo-Ark
Mid-Winter conference in Branson on February 21st. Ninety percent of the
proceeds will go to the Earl Collins Foundation with the remainer going to
Division 4. The quilt was made by members of the defunct Intercity Kiwanis club.

CHILI DAY FEBRUARY 24 at the Stone Church in Independence. The Independence
Kiwanis Club is holding their annual chili feed from 11:00 to 7:00 on February
24th. Bring an interclub or two and join in the fun. The Stone
Church is located at River Blvd and Lexington Ave, across from the Community of
Christ Temple just west of the Independence square.

The annual
STUDENT ASSISTANCE PANCAKE DAY will be held at Bartle Hall, 13th &
Central in
downtown Kansas City on March 24th from 7 am to 5 pm. Ed Redhair is
coordinating the event.

A HAM AND BEAN DINNER will be held by the
Warrensburg Kiwanis Club on March 27th from 11am to 2pm.

The 5th annual MOM'S DAY BABY SHOWER will be
held on May 8th at the area Hy-Vee stores.

The Downtown Kiwanis Club is now meeting at
the Union Station Cafe (second level) at 30 W Pershing Rd.
Enter through the East entrance.

The Lee's Summit Evening Club is now meeting
at the John Knox Lakeside Restaurant, 500 NW Shamrock Ave.

Missouri West Leadership Seminar will be held
at Central Missouri State University at Warrensburg, June 11 - 13, 2004. As in
the past, $175.00 will sponsor a 10th grade student from a high school.
Hopefully, each club will place an amount in their budget to sponsor one or more
youth in their area, The money should be sent to
