Mid-America Games needs your help on April 30, 2005. Athletes with physical disabilities will participate in this regional competition at Bishop Miege High School in Roeland Park, KS. The event is sanctioned by the National Disability Sports Alliance. The competition includes Boccia, Bowling and Track and Field. They need about 50 volunteers to officiate or otherwise help the athletes as needed. Click here for details on the event. To volunteer, contact Joe Dold at 816-453-8584 or email him at joedold@midamericagames.com.
Have you been reading the Kiwanis Inciter Marketing Newsletter? It gives really good ideas on improving your public relations image to the public. Another really good feature is advance notice of important events and special weeks coming up in the next several months to assist program directors in scheduling timely speakers and to assist presidents in scheduling special club projects. Did you know that February is "Read Around the World Month", March is "Mental Retardation Month" and "Red Cross Month," April is "Keep America Beautiful" Month, or that April 25–May 1 is "Skip-a-Meal Week?" Visit the Children's Services Links page to search for potential service projects in your area. Good hands-on projects are shown in the education (Reading is Fundamental) and mentoring menu selections.
