ARKANSAS RICE DEPOT

FOOD FOR KIDS PROGRAM

Rosetta Dubose has asked all of the Kiwanis Clubs in the MO/ARK District to help us with this project. The Arkansas Rice Depot is a not‑for‑profit program. The Food For Kids program is the Arkansas Rice Depot's program to provide needy children with backpacks of easily‑prepared food. The program serves 15,000 children in Grades K‑12 in 400 schools in Arkansas.

There are 3 ways we can help:

1. Purchase dark canvas backpacks.

2. Purchase food that children can prepare easily. Suggestions: granola bars, individual packages of cereal, tuna, fruit cocktail, pudding cups, individual boxes of raisins, macaroni & cheese, juice boxes, breakfast bars, snack cakes, Ramen noodle soup, fruit roll‑ups, etc.

3. Checks made out to MO/ARK District. Write Food for Kids on the memo line.

I hope each club will help me with this project! Rosetta would like us to bring these items to the Nov. 12 Governor's Dinner. They will be driving their van. Items may also be taken to the conference in Branson in February.
