Blue Valley Kiwanis club will serve Chili and Pie
at the Salvation Army building, 6618 Truman Road, Kansas City, MO
from 11 am to 7 pm. $6 |

December 2, 2006 |
Circle
K is hosting a "Forrest Priest Roast"
in Branson. This event is being offered as an opportunity for the various
Kiwanis and Kiwanis sponsored organizations to come together in fellowship
and have fun while we take some we take some well aimed shots at our good
friend and faithful friend of our youth, Forrest Priest. The event will be
at the Home Cannery Restaurant ($25 per person) with overnight special rates
at the nearby Ramada Inn. Festivities will begin at 6:00. Branson is
beautiful at Christmas time! Reservation deadline is Nov 20th, and you
can e-mail Ronda Lewallen at rlewall@uark.edu for registration
information. It will be a formal event.

Kiwanis University
is a one day "traveling road show" of workshops and forums focused on team
building, motivation, communication, and change. A variety of issues are
addressed such as Kiwanis' future, adjusting to change, membership
recruitment, and service. International staff and Immediate Past
International President Steve Siemens will lead the event. Steve heads up a
professional motivation company and is very good. Cost is $50 per
person ($200 for five if registered at the same time). It will be held at
Savior Pastoral Center in Kansas City , Kansas . MO-ARK is hosting the
Kansas City event along with Kansas and Neb/Western Iowa districts.

MISSOURI-ARKANSAS district initiative.

KEY LEADER PROGRAM
- Lt. Governor Select Mary Ann Collier has been named the state coordinator
for this program. Mary Ann is encouraging each club to sponsor one youth at a
cost of $150.00 plus transportation, if you choose to pay the additional. The
Missouri Key Leader weekend will be October 20-22 at Camp Mihaska in Bourbon, MO. 50 youth
are needed in order for the weekend to be a success. Target age is 8th
graders on up through high school. Mary Ann requested donations of
snacks, bottled water, etc. to defray costs. Please contact Mary Ann
(660-429-1489) if your club is willing to make a donation.

The annual club report is due prior to October 31st,
2006.

Clubs are encouraged to collect coins during the week
November 19-25 for the March of Dimes Awareness Month.

The next meeting will be November 11th at 4:30 pm prior
to the Governor's Banquet.

now meeting at The Carlyle, 1098 Independence Ave (at Tudor Road) on the 1st and
3rd Wednesdays at 7:15 am.
