October 28, 2006	The Mid-Town Kiwanis Club has postponed their Pancake Day until next Spring
November 4, 2006	The Warrensburg Kiwanis Club will hold their 40th Annual PANCAKE DAY on Saturday, November 4, 2006--7:00am-1:00pm, at the Sterling Elementary School, 522 E. Gay Street, Donation-$5.00.
November 11, 2006	Official visit of Governor Garry Warner - Hilton Garden Inn, I-70 and Little Blue Parkway click here for more info map  Reservations are needed by November 1st.
November 16, 2006	The Blue Valley Kiwanis club will serve Chili and Pie at the Salvation Army building, 6618 Truman Road, Kansas City, MO from 11 am  to 7 pm.  $6
December 2, 2006	Circle K is hosting a "Forrest Priest Roast" in Branson. This event is being offered as an opportunity for the various Kiwanis and Kiwanis sponsored organizations to come together in fellowship and have fun while we take some we take some well aimed shots at our good friend and faithful friend of our youth, Forrest Priest. The event will be at the Home Cannery Restaurant ($25 per person) with overnight special rates at the nearby Ramada Inn. Festivities will begin at 6:00. Branson is beautiful at Christmas time!  Reservation deadline is Nov 20th, and you or anyone can e-mail Ronda Lewallen at rlewall@uark.edu for registration information. It will be a formal event.
December 9, 2006	Kiwanis University is a one day "traveling road show" of workshops and forums focused on team building, motivation, communication, and change. A variety of issues are addressed such as Kiwanis' future, adjusting to change, membership recruitment, and service. International staff and Immediate Past International President Steve Siemens will lead the event. Steve heads up a professional motivation company and is very good.  Cost is $50 per person ($200 for five if registered at the same time). It will be held at Savior Pastoral Center in Kansas City , Kansas . MO-ARK is hosting the Kansas City event along with Kansas and Neb/Western Iowa districts.  Full details can be obtained by going to www.kiwanis.org/ku.
Feb 16-18, 2007	Midwinter Conference at Branson - OFFICIAL VISIT OF INTERNATIONAL PRESIDENT NELSON TUCKER

• Lt Governor Dan Sturdevant announced that Kiwanis International has established a membership goal of 1,000,000 members by 2015.   The Iodine Deficiency Disorder donations from Kiwanis worldwide is now $85,000,000.

• Healthy Lifestyles for Children is the MISSOURI-ARKANSAS district initiative.  Click here to see the 3 year goals.

• KEY LEADER PROGRAM - Lt. Governor Select Mary Ann Collier has been named the state coordinator for this program.  Mary Ann is encouraging each club to sponsor one youth at a cost of $150.00 plus transportation, if you choose to pay the additional.  The Missouri Key Leader weekend will be October 20-22 at Camp Mihaska in Bourbon, MO.  50 youth are needed in order for the weekend to be a success.  Target age is 8^th graders on up through high schoolers.  Mary Ann requested donations of snacks, bottled water, etc. to defray costs.  Please contact Mary Ann (660-429-1489) if your club is willing to make a donation.

• The annual club report is due prior to October 31st, 2006.

• Byron Lee was elected as Lt. Governor Select beginning October 1st.

• An exchange of banners recognized incoming Lt. Governor Cheryl Anderson and Lt. Governor Elect Mary Ann Collier for the Kiwanis year October 1, 2006 through September 30, 2007.

• The next meeting will be October 16th.

The Lee's Summit Achievers Kiwanis Club is now meeting at The Carlyle, 1098 Independence Ave (at Tudor Road) on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays at 7:15 am.

The Warrensburg Kiwanis Club's new meeting day is Tuesday at 6 pm, and new location is:  Mazzio's Italian Eatery, 204 E. Young (Business 50 Highway), Warrensburg, 660-422-7200.

Have you been reading the Kiwanis Inciter Marketing Newsletter?  It gives really good ideas on improving your public relations image to the public.  Another really good feature is the PLAN AHEAD section giving advance notice of important events and special weeks coming up in the next several months to assist program directors in scheduling timely speakers and to assist presidents in scheduling special club projects.
