Governor's Visit Service Project 2009
This year, Region 1 has adopted the
Helen M. Davis State School for the severely handicapped in St. Joseph, MO
as its Governor's Visit Service Project. It is a special education school
offering classes for students in their local community. As a result of state and
federal funding cuts, teachers have to provide a number of items for the school
and students, and our Kiwanis clubs have an opportunity to serve by helping to
provide these important and needed items. Each club is asked to select items
from the list below and bring them to the Governor's visit, to be donated to the
school:
| Cake mixes/frosting for birthday parties | Fruit snacks |
| Individual serving cups or boxes of pudding | Drink mixes |
| Individual serving cups of applesauce | Macaroni and cheese boxes |
| Quart/gallon zip lock bags | AA Batteries |
| Rechargeable AA batteries | AA Battery Chargers |
| Washable markers | Beach/swimming towels |
| Washcloths | |
| Grooming supplies: toothpaste, mouthwash, fingernail kits, etc. | |
