MO-ARK Kiwanis

Mid-Winter Service Project

Sponsored by Circle K, Kiwanis Partners and Kids

A woman’s Crisis Center in Branson is our service project for Mid-Winter Conference Saturday February 21.  The Crisis Center typically houses 35-50 children ranging in ages from birth to 17 years old.  These kids literally come to the Crisis Center with the clothes on their back and sometimes the clothes are only pajamas.  These children need our help.  They have nothing.  The Crisis Center would love to have donations of the following:

·        New Toys  for all ages

·        Colors, scissors, and games

·        Play Stations and games

·        Bikes of all sizes

·        Sports equipment like basketballs, baseballs, gloves, bats, footballs, soccer balls, etc

·        Books for all ages

·        Family videos

·        Personal Hygiene items (toothbrushes, combs, soap, shampoo, deodorant, toothpaste, hair styling products, etc)

The Circle K young leaders, Kiwanis Partners and the children attending the conference are going to meet Saturday morning at 9:15 AM and make pins for the children and then will put together care packages and the other donated items that the Crisis Center will pick up.

We are asking each club to gather as much of the above list that they can and then send it with whoever is coming to the Mid Winter Conference.  Clubs may choose to just donate one or two large items (bikes) or a lot of smaller toys and games or books, but we are asking every club to donate personal hygiene items in addition to the toys, etc.  If you can bring them in small boxes it would be much appreciated.

Suggestion:  Have two special club meetings where each member brings personal hygiene items and a toy to be donated or each bring personal hygiene items and everyone kicks in a couple of dollars to buy the more expensive items.    That will give every member an opportunity to donate by having it over a couple of different meetings.

Thank you for sharing with these very needy children.

Times to remember:  Saturday February 21 meet at 9:15 AM
